We were done discussing about the Canterbury Tales written by Chaucer. According to the Wikipedia, Canterbury Tales is a collection of stories in Middle English by Geoffrey Chaucer at the end of the 14th century. We discussed about the Pardoner’s, Knight’s, Miller’s and The Wife of Bath’s Tale. Among the four tales of Chaucer, the tale I like the most is the Knight’s Tale. I like it than the other tales because I am fond of reading or watching love stories. The tale is about the two knights, Palamon and Arcite, who was bewitched by Emelye’s beauty. The friendship of the two knights turns into hatred when they fought over Emelye. In the end, Emelye marries Palamon. The part in which Arcite disguised himself and returned to the palace just to see Emelye everyday is one of the reasons why I chose this story. Even though Arcite died, he showed that he really love Emelye.
Nowadays, I only know few people who would do everything or sacrifice their life for their loved ones. I'll consider myself lucky if I'm able to find one in the future. Loving a person is not only shown in words but also in actions.
